Inspiration for Spring 2015

Spring is upon us and once again it’s the time of year for the interior design trade to fling open their showroom doors and display their wonderful new colours and products for the season.

Chelsea Harbour launched their Design Week  this month inviting designers to come and see their  exciting  new colours, fabrics and products…….truly inspirational for designers working with clients to introduce the new products to their homes and places of work.

Colours for this year range from  soft tones of pinks and coppers, Farrow and Ball Setting Plaster and Pink Ground & Dulux Copper Blush, to the favourites tones of greys from Farrow and Ball Dimpse and Lamp Room Grey.  Natural materials such as wood, leaf prints, butterflies, are still evident in many products to work well with these colours and there are  many monochrome designs in wallpapers, fabrics and accessories which can give an immediate statement and  update to any room.

There is also a great range of vibrant prints and weaves using reds, yellows, blues and bright geometrics .

Copper lighting, wallpaper and fabrics can play an important part giving rich textures  and creating extra dimension and reflection to an interior.

Spring is a great time where light is more plentiful in  our homes and can look at our interiors to capture those longer days. The old idea of a Spring Clean is not only cleansing but can really make you identify with your home and re-assess how you want to live. Cleaning and clearing  can be a very positive  process for your well -being and the running of your home. Re designing rooms or re allocating space in your home is often useful and can offer extra space for the family.  Larger projects like extending can also offer a reason to redecorate and add another room to your home.

As William Morris famously said ‘Have nothing in your house which you do not know to be useful  or believe to be beautiful’

If the answer is that you have, then maybe you need some help to make your home work better for you and your family.

Style My Home are happy to come and look at your home to discuss how you can make a start.
